FAQ
What is ceremonial cacao?
Ceremonial cacao is 100% non-skimmed cacao in the form of cocoa paste. It comes from native (that have not been changed by any way by humans) types of cacao trees. Additionally, cultivation must be carried out in a sustainable way, with the right intention, honestly, with respect for Mother Nature and man - without exploitation. Ceremonial Cacao is made from fermented beans, roasted in the sun and then ground into a paste.
How cacao paste is made?
Traditionally, cacao beans are fermented, then cleaned
from the husk and dried in the sun or heated at low temperatures. The next
stage is grinding the grain. During grinding, cacao butter is released and a
liquid mass is formed, which is called cacao paste.

It is best to store cacao in a cool and dry place. Cacao stored at room temperature, is good for years. I do not recommend keeping cacao in the fridge - the cold itself is not a problem for it, but water may condense on it, making it wet - and this is not good for it.
